Mimi Stillman’s article in Flutist Quarterly “Into the Light: Mieczyslaw Weinberg’s Five Pieces for Flute and Piano”

Mimi’s article on Mieczyslaw Weinberg’s Five Pieces for Flute and Piano has appeared in the Winter 2016 issue of the Flutist Quarterly, the journal of the National Flute Association.  She writes about the composer’s narrow escapes from Nazi and Soviet persecution and prolific oeuvre in addition to the excellent Five Pieces for Flute and Piano, of which she gave the U.S. premiere and made the first recording with pianist Charles Abramovic.

“Odyssey” Reviewed in The Flutist Quarterly

I am pleased to share the newest review of “Odyssey: 11 American Premieres for Flute and Piano,” a 2-CD set on which I perform with Charles Abramovic, piano on Innova Recordings, in The Flutist Quarterly. It was reviewed by Andrea Kapell Loewy in the Fall 2012 issue of this publication, which is the journal of the National Flute Association.

“Odyssey” includes world premiere recordings of works by Mason Bates, Benjamin C.S. Boyle, Richard Danielpour, Michael Djupstrom, Katherine Hoover, Daniel Kellogg, Gerald Levinson, David Ludwig, Andrew Rudin, David Bennett Thomas, and Zhou Tian.

The CD is available through Innova Recordings, my website, Amazon, and wherever CDs are sold.
