Flute Tips

Hello, my flutist friends.

I am pleased to welcome you to Mimi’s Tips, my series of brief videos with tips on various aspects of playing the flute and making music. I will discuss and demonstrate topics such as breathing, exercises, flute repertoire, tonguing, how to practice, interpretation, music history, and more.

I was inspired to start Mimi’s Tips because I correspond with flutists who write me with questions that often deal with the same important aspects of playing, so I thought I’d like to share my thoughts with flutists by video.
I hope you find them helpful, and feel free to continue sending me your questions and comments.

Wishing you exciting music-making,
Mimi

My latest tips are on my Instagram page, which I invite you to follow here. Here are the direct links, listed by topic, and if you keep scrolling you'll see my tips from YouTube (please also subscribe to my channel).
